The Cambridge Satchel Company was founded in 2008 by Julie Deane and her mother Freda Thomas. Julie began making split leather satchels at her kitchen table and today has six stores, in London, Brighton, Cambridge and Edinburgh, five of which have been designed by Hyphen.
The Cambridge Satchel Company stores are all treated individually in respect to their location. A kitchen table appears in each store, reflecting that initial workspace and the hand-crafted nature of these satchels.
