This will be Hyphen\u2019s ninth office, complementing our existing network of offices across Europe and Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our Belfast opening is founded on the success of Hyphen\u2019s office in Ireland, launched in January 2021. A wealth of opportunities north of the border, notably in retail and logistics, has meant that a dedicated team in Belfast is needed to meet client demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belfast occupies a unique position at the moment, in that it is part of the UK but also part of the European Single Market. This has led to opportunities following Brexit, including the rapid growth of the region\u2019s logistics sector, with clients seeking to enhance their access to the EU. It is a city that has received significant inward investment, making it a very attractive prospect. The new office also gives us improved access to northern England and Scotland due to the short distances involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drawing on the resources and professional expertise of the Group, Hyphen\u2019s office in Belfast will be led by Associate, Georgina Mullen, who will work closely with our Irish team south of the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Georgina joined the company in 2021, and has over 20 years\u2019 experience in delivering architectural projects for a variety of international, public sector and commercial clients. She studied architecture at Queens University, Belfast and the University of Strathclyde, in Glasgow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Hyphen opens Belfast office\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/696586222?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Georgina says: \u201cThere are two very large and very good universities in Belfast, producing a stream of talented and experienced architects and architectural technologists. This makes Belfast a good location for building and retaining a team of good quality staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe team we have gels very well together and is 100% female, which I am very proud of. We didn\u2019t set out to do this but hired based on who had the right skills and experience, and would work well together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eddie Miles, CEO at Hyphen says: \u201cOur new office allows us to have a dedicated local team in Northern Ireland with regional expertise who can maintain the Hyphen quality in everything they do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBelfast is a city that I have known for many years and it is exciting to be opening an office there. Over the years we have worked with several Northern Ireland-based consultants and contractors and I\u2019ve always been impressed with the quality and professionalism which typifies their work.
