• The technical phase of the permit process can be self-certified if a suitably qualified architect is used.  

DID YOU KNOW?

• As in the UK, any pre-application advice given is not binding. The local authority may change their opinion once a full application is submitted however, this is rare.
• Legislation does allow for dispensation from building regulations in some cases.
• Exceptionally, the authorities may allow a start prior to the granting of a full building permit.
• There is no minimum process time set by the authorities to deal with and grant a building permit.
