At Hyphen, wellbeing and support underpin how we collaborate, with each other and our clients.
Architecture can be demanding work. When we experience global crises and emergencies, as this year’s World Mental Health Day theme highlights, the everyday pressures can feel even heavier. Supporting mental health is essential for the long-term sustainability of our teams and our work.
At Hyphen, supporting each other is part of our culture, a reminder that excellence in architecture starts with care and collaboration. It’s the foundation of our culture. Small moments of connection can make a big difference in our lives.
Across our multi-national teams, we marked this day in ways that reflect our culture – collaborative, connected, and fun:
Nature walks in Belfast and Santiago offered a chance to slow down and breathe in the fresh air, surrounded by the greenery of the Botanic Gardens and the views from San Cristóbal Hill.
In Winchester and London, teams got hands-on with spaghetti-and-marshmallow shelter-building challenge and board games, encouraging some healthy competition.
Milan and Mexico City focused on food and drink, with shared breakfast and an alcohol-free cocktail-making workshop led by Antonio Suárez.
In Paris, Mira Rogliano hosted a workshop on breathing techniques to help reduce stress and anxiety.
We also took time to talk openly about mental health and access to resources, share ways to cope with emotional distress, and reflect on how we can support one another, not just once a year, but every day.
For us, wellbeing is about how we work, lead, and connect with each other. With global emergencies and personal struggles, that culture of care is more important than ever. When our people feel supported, we bring more empathy, creativity, and care to every project.
