Hyphen opens Belfast office

We are delighted to announce the opening of our new office in Belfast, Northern Ireland. This will be Hyphen’s ninth office, complementing our existing network of offices across Europe and Latin America.

Our Belfast opening is founded on the success of Hyphen’s office in Ireland, launched in January 2021. A wealth of opportunities north of the border, notably in retail and logistics, has meant that a dedicated team in Belfast is needed to meet client demand.

Belfast occupies a unique position at the moment, in that it is part of the UK but also part of the European Single Market. This has led to opportunities following Brexit, including the rapid growth of the region’s logistics sector, with clients seeking to enhance their access to the EU. It is a city that has received significant inward investment, making it a very attractive prospect. The new office also gives us improved access to northern England and Scotland due to the short distances involved.

Drawing on the resources and professional expertise of the Group, Hyphen’s office in Belfast will be led by Associate, Georgina Mullen, who will work closely with our Irish team south of the border.

Georgina joined the company in 2021, and has over 20 years’ experience in delivering architectural projects for a variety of international, public sector and commercial clients. She studied architecture at Queens University, Belfast and the University of Strathclyde, in Glasgow.

Georgina says: “There are two very large and very good universities in Belfast, producing a stream of talented and experienced architects and architectural technologists. This makes Belfast a good location for building and retaining a team of good quality staff.

“The team we have gels very well together and is 100% female, which I am very proud of. We didn’t set out to do this but hired based on who had the right skills and experience, and would work well together.”

Eddie Miles, CEO at Hyphen says: “Our new office allows us to have a dedicated local team in Northern Ireland with regional expertise who can maintain the Hyphen quality in everything they do.

“Belfast is a city that I have known for many years and it is exciting to be opening an office there. Over the years we have worked with several Northern Ireland-based consultants and contractors and I’ve always been impressed with the quality and professionalism which typifies their work. I look forward to building and expanding these relationships in the future

“We are optimistic about the post-Covid market and as well as our new venture in Belfast we are continuing to explore new expansion opportunities across Europe and Latin America. We remain committed to our philosophy of combining an international outlook with local expertise and are therefore delighted to add Belfast to our portfolio.”
