Eurostar Business Lounge

When Eurostar’s London terminal moved from Waterloo to St Pancras, Paris’ Gare du Nord welcomed a new VIP lounge to serve business class passengers en route to London and readdress the balance between the rival cities.

Located on the second floor, construction of the lounge in this historic station was undertaken without disruption to Eurostar’s services and lasted six months.

The stylish concept by Softroom incorporates glazed walls that allow panoramic views over the station platforms. The main lounge includes a fireplace offering a comfortable place for passengers to relax before their journey. The scheme includes cosy relaxing cells and larger areas to work, as well as an elegant cocktail bar and a high-end self-service cafeteria.

“Modelled on the old charm of Parisian apartments”, Xavier Manera, Director in Paris, says, “our challenge was to preserve the decorative elements of the building such as the mosaics and overhead mouldings – dating back to the nineteenth century.”
