Hyphen architect and associate, Javier Moya Ortiz, has been selected for World Architecture Festival’s 40 Under 40 South and Central America. Expert judges chose Javier as one of 40 of the most influential young architects in the Latin American region.
Chosen by World Architecture Festival and Architecture Hunter, the list highlights 40 outstanding individuals aged 40 or under from South or Central America and recognises their contribution to the architectural field.
Expertise in critical infrastructure
Joining Hyphen in 2022 as a senior architect in Santiago, Chile, Javier has been instrumental in our work on data centres and critical infrastructure in Latin America and Europe. He is known for his strategic thinking, design leadership and expertise on complex real estate projects.
A string of successes
This is the latest milestone for Javier, after a WAFX Award win in 2025 for work with Elea Data Centers on Rio AI City, promotion to associate position at Hyphen in January, and becoming a finalist in the emerging talent category for DCS Awards 2026.
A showcase for global industry leaders
Javier’s selection in the top 40 means that his work will be exhibited at the forthcoming World Architecture Festival, held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from 18-20 November. He will also take part in a special session for the 40 under 40 architects, connecting with professionals from Guatemala to Argentina.
Reflecting on the recognition
Javier says, “I am very happy to be named alongside so many outstanding architects in the region. I would like to thank World Architecture Festival and Architecture Hunter for this distinction, and all those who have supported me in my career.
“I look forward to representing Hyphen in Miami, and meeting the 39 other architects selected for this honour. It will be an amazing opportunity to discuss our work and industry experiences.”
