Doreen Homann has been promoted to Senior Associate, strengthening the practice’s project leadership and sustainability expertise. Since joining the Hyphen team in Berlin 2012, Doreen has led work across retail, logistics, data centres and hospitality, building experience across different project types, scales and client requirements. Her promotion reflects the importance of practical project leadership at a time when clients are balancing technical complexity, programme certainty, sustainability requirements and long-term asset performance.
Sustainability knowledge connected to project delivery
Doreen has steadily developed recognised sustainability expertise alongside her project work. She became a Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB) Auditor in 2024, and qualified as a certified sustainable building coordinator in 2025. This combination of project experience and certification knowledge is increasingly important for clients. Sustainability decisions often need to be made early, but they also have to work through design development, cost planning, procurement, construction and operation. For our clients, the value sits in understanding how these decisions affect both immediate delivery and the long-term performance of an asset.
Practical advice for complex project decisions
Doreen continues to develop the sustainability strategy for Hyphen’s Berlin office, supporting teams as sustainability requirements become more closely linked to commercial, regulatory and operational expectations. Her role brings together technical understanding, project coordination and practical advice. This helps clients consider sustainability not as a separate layer, but as part of the wider decision-making process: what is realistic, what creates value, what needs to be planned early and what could become harder to change later.
